  • 1 1/2 cups of egg whites (about 12 large eggs)

  6. Gently fold in the sifted sugar and flour mixture, being careful not to deflate the egg whites.
  7. Spoon the batter into an ungreased angel food cake pan.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cake springs back when lightly touched.
  9. Remove the cake from the oven and invert the pan to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, run a knife around the edges to release the cake from the pan.
