1. Homestyle Chicken Pot Pie

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 3/4 cups chicken broth
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 pre-made pie crusts

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt, pepper, celery seed, and onion powder until well combined.

Gradually whisk in chicken broth and milk. Cook and stir until the mixture thickens and becomes smooth.

Stir in chicken, carrots, peas, and cook until vegetables are slightly tender. Remove from heat.

Line a pie dish with one pie crust. Pour the chicken mixture into the crust. Cover with the second pie crust, seal the edges, and cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 1/2 cups sharp ch
