  • 16 ounces ziti pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add chopped onions and garlic, and sauté until onions are translucent.
  3. Stir in the marinara sauce, dried oregano, and dried basil. Simmer for 10 minutes, then remove from heat.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Spread half of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Layer with the pasta mixture and remaining meat sauce.
  7. Sprinkle the top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
